Starked SF, Unforgiving News from the Bay

Bay Area Bulwer-Lytton Alert

by Paul on June 19th, 2006

Attention all readers!  We are offering an as yet undetermined and probably somewhat cheesy prize for the reader who can come up with the most pathetic columnist in the Bay Area.  Probably a T-shirt emblazoned with “Starked Editor: May Pose Choking Hazard.”

The criteria are vague and highly subjective, so we are liberally interpreting the word ‘newspaper’ to include the S.F. Chronicle to offer a curb-low standard for mediocre writing: any column by the oatmeal brained Ms. Gonick.  (Feature her figuratively smelling Carrie Bradshaw’s shoes in the Saturday column.)

But we’re convinced it can get worse, so put on your bifocals and start readin’.  We don’t care if it’s a columnist in a daily, a weekly, a blog, a webzine, whatever.  The abysmally bad nature of the selection should be patently obvious, but please feel free to speculate freely on how the writer in question stays in business: pictures of the editor in a clandestine barnyard embrace and so on.

Rules and regulations prohibit Starked employees from being nominated.
