Craig’s Dregs: Paid Film School Admissions Essays

by Paul on October 9th, 2007

This delightful L.A. Craigslist posting shows how the film business operates in all its grotesque involuted glory: some Beverly Hills dad wants to pay someone to help his kid with “ealry” admissions stuff.

Great. Take any rich punk born with a silver spoon in his ass and pay somebody to write up his admissions crap for film school. A few years down the line, cinematic turds splatter on the silver screen everywhere: Gigli, Van Helsing, Daddy Day Camp, Bio-Dome, Delta Farce. And of course the worst movie ever made, Face Off.

From Craigslist, where the magic begins:

My son is applying ealry decision to NYU film school on november first and needs somebody to help him with his college essays and other aspects of the college admissions process. PLEASE REPLY ASAP we would like to meet as soon as this thursday! My son goes to Beverly Hills High School and is very well rounded. If you know any insights to the NYU app or the college admissions process please reply. Prices are negotiable.
