S.F. Chron Buries Columnists–Again
Ye old S.F. Chron took another shot at checking to see if anyone would notice the disappearance of their entertainment section columnists.
It’s almost enough to make you reach for the Debra Saunders section.
Judging from the pages we snatched out of a cat box, the backside of yesterday’s E-section once again featured a full-page Cost Plus ad, rather than the usual “columnists.”
Our only complaint, once again, is that we’d rather see an ad with some flesh showing. Perhaps a graphic pitch for an art house showing of Caligula, or a republican party convention.
Blithering Jon Carroll and mandate-less gossip columnist Leah Garchik were interred on page E-5.
Their chances of being read in the back forty? Not good, when the section cover is a half-page “art” montage of photos of tract houses in Richmond. That’s CA, not VA. And that’s what the SF MOMA has going for it at the moment.
The Chron just isn’t even bothering with Bay Area beat columnists anymore. Bay Area . . . nothing happening . . . not worth covering . . .
What a bunch of douche bags hiding behind the Chron.
